Nutrition for Children course

This course is perfect for parents, grandparents, and anyone who wants to learn how to nourish their children optimally. Providing children with proper nutrition is essential, especially during the first 5-6 years of life when rapid growth occurs. This is when the brain develops rapidly, so it’s crucial to pack their diets with foods that support it.

Healthy nutrition is also essential for building strong bones and muscles, fighting infections and stress effectively, and transitioning smoothly into adulthood. Let’s ensure poor nutrition is not one of the challenges our children face during this critical time.

The Nutrition for Children course teaches you:

  • Why breast milk is the perfect baby’s food and what to do if breastfeeding can’t happen.

  • What nutrients are the most important in different developmental stages of children.

  • How the colour of fruits and vegetables reflects their benefits and effects on health.

  • What are the key sources of nutrients that feed the brain and support a child’s cognitive and emotional health.

  • How to meet the nutritional needs of adolescents.

How to Feed the Brain

The brain uses more energy than any other body organ; good nutrition is essential to meet its developmental needs. Healthy childhood eating may yield benefits that are only measurable later in life.

Everything from learning to memory and attentiveness depends on the nutrients we ingest. With the proper nutrients, children may be able to maintain concentration, which is increasingly important as they start going to school. Nutrient-dense foods rich in complex carbohydrates, healthy protein and fats, essential fatty acids, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients significantly improve cognitive functions and support healthy emotional development.

According to research, nutrition directly affects how children feel, behave and react to stressors. Serotonin, which helps regulate sleep, appetite and mood, is primarily produced in the gut, meaning the digestive system also guides emotions.

Give children the best start in life with optimal nutrition

About the course

This online course includes an in-depth 1-hour 45-minute video lecture, 28 informative handouts and five articles about optimal nutrition for different stages our children go through when growing up: negative influences of junk food, lack of sleep, stress and negative habits like smoking and drinking alcohol have on growth and development; how to include enough essential nutrients into our children’s diets without needing to supplement them; and how to help our children go through difficult adolescent years when bad habits can creep in, and make sure that healthy eating and lifestyle choices are maintained as their way of life when they grow up.

The course explains in detail the process of weaning, how infant nutrition differs from childhood nutrition, what herbs are safe for children of certain ages, how to implement them in children’s diets, and how to include some foods children often dislike in their meals.
